Tony was using the KTS but I was just using my BD sabertooth as I don’t have any Kahtoola’s. My setup worked fine but the KTS are much more suited (lighter and more comfortable with running shoes) for this type of outing.
Cool, I’m looking to up my grade this year and make the step up from microspikes which are okay, but not suitable for front pointing, or basically anything “dangerous” your setup looks good Joe, very impressed.
Hiked up Long’s on the last day of my honeymoon nearly 15 years ago — one of my favorite memories is the sun shining off the key hole at sunrise — set the rocks on fire, I guess you could say. Beautiful reminder of that day. Thanks Joe!
Wow Joe!
No place like home.
No ropes…holy shit that looked sketchy!! I’m thoroughly impressed!
Thanks Heath. The camera lens and angle definitely make things look steeper/sketchier than they are.
Wow. Excellent footage. Sweet track, what is it?
Thanks, Chris. The track is Venetian Snares – Öngyilkos Vasárnap.
I’m with Heath here. That looked ridiculously sketchy. Made my hands sweat just watching it!
That looks like so much fun! What a day…
Geez, Joe! There are bluebird days and then there are BLUESTOFBLUEBLUEBIRD days!!! Way to not let that one slip by without celebrating up high.
Pure awesomeness! You guys rock!
Sick man, awesomely sick
Are those Kahtoola crampons?

Back in business Joe….Good to see
Gramps with Nans
Great video! It’s amazing what you do…you’re liven the dream!!!
That’s some borderline Ueli Steck stuff there!
Minus the hard climbing part
